Lemons anyone???!

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a while been caught up with some personal stuff but I decided to take a minute and post something I think is just awesome!

So let’s get right to it.

awesome!

LEMONS yes lemons. How many of you know the importance of lemons??! I cannot stress how awesome they are.

Lemons are rich in vitamin c and we all know how important vitamin c is important in our diet as well as hair growth. I am going to spare you the lecture on vitamin c since I know nobody has time for that (looool)

I want to tell you 7 simple ways I use lemons in my daily routine.

In the morning, on an empty stomach a drink a mug full of lukewarm water with a whole freshly squeezed lemon (this I must say takes a while to get used to). This serves as a detox to clean my system of impurities.

After I brush my teeth I gaggle a bit of the warm lemon water but I do not swallow I use the warm lemon water at this stage as a mouthwash and it keeps my breath fresh all day.😄

After I take a shower I put lemon on my armpits I tend to do this at night before bed though due to the fact that lemon is photosensitive so not advisable to use during the day. I normally put on deodorant during the day and only use the lemon on my armpits at night and it is the best by far natural deodorant if you ask me! Looool

Now during the day I stay hydrated by slicing  up a lemon and adding it to my water you could use an infuser if you don’t like having the lemons directly in the water. I personally don’t mind.

Another thing I have been loving lately is squeezing a lemon onto anything I eat this though can make your food taste a bit too tangy depending on what exactly you eating but squeezing fresh lemon over salad or meat or fish is just delish! Loool

I also like to use lemon on my face. Lemon is a natural brightener and great for battling acne. As you all know I have hyper pigmentation and I have very prone acne skin. I use a few drops of half a lemon and pure honey on my face a few nights a week when I feel my face feels or looks dull and it brightens it instantly.

Also when I feel my face needs to be exfoliated (like really exfoliated) I squeeze a few drops of lemon on some baking soda and give my face a good scrub! It works wonders.

So there you have it my simple ways of incorporating lemon into my regimen. Hope you all enjoy and if you want to know an in depth post of my daily routine do let me know.

Do you also love lemons? Do you use them in your daily routine as well? What are some of the ways you use lemon? Share if you have any ways I would love to hear from you guys.

Till then I wish you all a beautiful day!

           Love always,

            Emma

Five books I would never throw away

Good Reads!

Book of words

As much as electronic books have been a lifesaver, or more appropriately a shoulder/back saver, the book lover in me still loves possessing physical copies of books, especially when they hold special memories for me. Below are five books that are very dear to me, with little stories of their own and I cannot see myself throwing them out anytime soon.

Let me know down below if you have any books that you love so much that you will not part with it so easily.

Murder on the Orient1. Murder on the Orient Express
One of the masterpieces of English writer Agatha Christie, it is a must have on the bookshelves for all die-hard fans of ‘The Queen of Crime.’ I absolutely adore this book and think that it epitomizes the beauty of her huge collection of crime fiction writings.

GELATINE FACE MASK! (Pore strips)

I have been hearing about this mask for a while now and I have been curious about it for the longest while. I was a little hesitant at first due to the fact that not everything you hear about actually works looool but I must admit it did get my attention.

How can gelatine and milk be used as a mask to clear pores it is also claimed to remove facial hair (now who doesn’t want a smooth facial hair free face???)

I have acne prone skin and I actually do have acne on my face so anything that promises to clean my clogged pores I am so INTERESTED loool

I decided to do some research about it before I end up destroying my face. After I was convinced I had researched on the topic thoroughly I was prepared to try it on my whole face and not just my nose.

Things Needed:
• gelatine (this has to be the plain or unflavored kind)

•Milk (any kind is allowed, if you have powdered milk just mix with water) it should be in liquid form.

What To Do

In a microwaveable cup or glass add two tablespoons of plain or unflavored gelatine and two tablespoons of milk. Microwave it for not more than 20seconds I recommend 15 but if your microwave is super fast or should I say hot?? make it 10 seconds. It should be a thick viscous consistency.

Now on a clean face apply the mask please allow it to cool a little before applying I do not want to be responsible for anyone burning their face off loool. However apply quickly as it dries pretty fast I recommend using an old makeup brush to apply.

I suggest to apply the mask not to thick on the face as removing it could be a problem it shouldn’t be too light either it should be somewhere between the two. Also I advice that any hair wanted on the face including but not limited to hair and eyebrows should be avoided. Try adding an oil or Vaseline to the eyebrows and hairline to protect it.

I left the mask on for about twenty minutes (some recommend leaving it for just five minutes) but I felt the stiffer it got the more it cleared my pores loool. It will get really hard and your face will really get stiff it may even hurt a little to smile. After the twenty minutes is up peel the mask gently off the face I apply a bit onto my neck so I started peeling from my neck upwards. I advise to be very gentle when peeling as it gets a bit difficult to remove.

When the mask is off (you will see a lot of gunk on the removed mask more like peeled skin) go ahead and moisturize as it can leave the skin feeling bare and dry. I personally used a toner before applying my moisturizer just to balance my ph (you can totally skip this if you want to).

I recommend doing this just before bedtime as the sleep will restore and rejuvenate the skin.

The Results

Immediately after removing the mask my face literally felt like a baby! I wouldn’t say it took off my facial hair but it definitely cleaned up a lot of clogged pores and build up. I would definitely do this again but I would definitely not do it too often. I think every two weeks would be just fine. Unfortunately I did not take an after pic as I was too tired to remember but here is a pic of me the next day.

I hope you all enjoy the post and if you decide to try it out please do well to let me know if this post was useful. If you have also tried it before feel free to let me know how you applied it and the results. If you want to see a video tutorial of how I apply the mask do let me know.

As always have an amazing day guys! Always remember to say a prayer. Until next time stay blessed!

Commanding Your Morning!

Hi guys! Woke up to such a beautiful morning thought I would share with you a good book I have been reading.

I am such a lover of books it’s unbelievable! I am not too picky when it comes to the genre of books I read as long as it’s interesting (ain’t nobody got time for boring books) loool. However, I have been loving inspirational and motivational books lately. I mean seriously, who doesn’t like to be inspired or motivated???

My latest is a book titled COMMANDING YOUR MORNING written by Cindy Trimm. This book was actually given to me by my boss (it totally gives me an excuse to read at work 😆).

It is about changing your life by putting meaning and purpose back into your life through positively directing your thoughts, words and actions towards realization of your goals. This book reminds me so much of the book

THE SECRET

which is also a good read I must say. Unlike the secret where the universe provides our needs through our thoughts, this book, in the biblical sense, seeks to help you achieve victory over your circumstances through spoken declarations that activate God’s power.

So far I am really loving this book and I love that it makes mention of how IMAGINATION is a door that opens to a world of possibilities. As Albert Einstein said

I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.

I do not want to spoil the book for you guys but I definitely recommend it as a must read! What are some of your favorite books? If you guys have good books that you recommend please feel free to share them with me.

I also have an audio book by Daniel Kahneman titled THINKING, FAST AND SLOW. I cannot wait to start listening to it when I am done with my current read. Have you guys heard or read this book? Let me know if it is a good read if you have.

Have a wonderful day guys! Remember that you are the sum total of your thoughts so only positive thoughts!
Stay blessed and also remember to always say a prayer.
